A Zine Fest Captured on 35mm Film
An incredibly dedicated organizing team of Asian American artists brought together over 100 zinesters for this event. What an honor to be in attendance and to experience so much AZN talent in one place!
Mel of Hello Magnolia Photography had the opportunity to volunteer at this inaugural AZN Zine Fest! The first event of it's kind in Portland Oregon, hosted at the truly magnificent, Fubonn shopping center on February 28th, 2026.
Zine lovers masked up and hit the hallways of the shopping center, packed to the brim and illuminated by neons, claw machines, and overhead florescent lighting. It was a beautiful sight to behold. "Everyone was so kind, a photographer's delight! I walked away with a sick new AZN Zine Fest screen printed tote bag loaded down with zine goodies of course! AND with a week's grocery shopping too! This was something really, really special and I am so grateful that I was able to attend and help document the experience." - Mel, volunteer photographer.
