Pride & Joy

Today, it's a little throwback to this beautiful experience shooting with @bramraye of B. Styling.

Bram is a very dear friend and young entrepreneur offering an inclusive, virtual, wardrobe experience to trans and non-binary folks. I've hired her myself to help me redefine my personal style while struggling with my mental health and self-esteem. A highlight of the experience for me was having Bram there to help me plan and pack my suitcase for a business trip. I get terrible social anxiety and indecisiveness is a recurring symptom for me. Having her there (via video chat) to keep me centered on my clothing goals while planning and packing was so helpful, she even followed up with notes and a list!

When we had the opportunity in summer 2022 to meet and collaborate in person, I wanted to capture Bram in her own space. Seeing my friend standing unapologetically, as her authentic self, in our small hometown sends a jolt of emotion through me that is difficult for me to explain. I am honored to have been able to capture the trans beauty that's growing and flourishing in a small town in Kansas.
